WORTHING COMMUNITY CHEST AUGUST 2019 FUNDING ROUND

Worthing Community Chest, the local, independent charity that makes small grants to groups, clubs, events and other good causes in Worthing, announces its latest round of funding awards.

Our Appraisal Panel, made up of representatives from groups we have funded in the previous 12 months, agreed eight awards totalling £11,165.74 as follows;

Friends of West Worthing Park £1,204.00
To improve children’s play area with basketball surprise game.

HUT 34 £1,500.00
Developing a therapeutic space where disabled and wheelchair users can interact with musical sculptures & instruments.

Say Aphasia Worthing £1,500.00
Worthing drop in support for those affected by aphasia . Aphasia is an impairment of language, affecting the production or comprehension of speech and the ability to read or write.

The Treasure Basket Association £1,500.00
Providing play therapy sessions in Worthing schools for traumatised children.

Transition Town Worthing Repair Cafe £1,500.00
Develop Repair Café model to extend local outreach and share learnings with other community groups.

Worthing Mental Health Awareness Week £973.00
Marketing, catering and event costs for Worthing Mental Health Awareness Week taking place from 7th October 2019.

Worthing Ping United £1,500.00
Venue hire support for the Autumn 2019-Spring 2020 Ping Community project.

Creative Waves £1,500.00
Creative recycling and sustainability workshops in Worthing schools.
