One Love receives Worthing Community Chest Cheque!

Last Sunday I put on my Worthing Community Chest t-shirt instead of my England top, and headed over to Luke Angel’s One Love Worthing event. Greeted by the Celebration Samba band, entertained throughout with great music and kept sustained by fabulous food from around the world, this could hardly have been a better first event for me!

One Love is a free, annual multicultural festival, bringing communities together to celebrate diversity. Worthing Community Chest were delighted to be able to support this year’s event and I was personally delighted that my first big cheque presentation was able to happen there.

If you have a not for profit project in mind, and have been thinking of applying to us for a while, take the plunge! We are happy to support you as much as we can through the process. There are a few basic things to consider first, so it’s best to check here for our criteria and more info on how to apply. Our funds are supported by our textile recycling efforts in and around Worthing. We have fourteen bins ready to take your rags from Findon through to Brooklands Cafe and Park. You can check out our bin map here.

Our next funding round is happening right now! Applications are due in by the end of July, and our independent Appraisal Panel meets to award grants at the end of August. Should you need any assistance or have any questions, or you just want to talk through an idea, call me on 01903 221080 or you can email me on grants@worthingcommunitychest.org.
