Worthing Community Chest Trustee, Fred Weller, and Charity Coordinator, Catherine Attwood, went to the Connaught Theatre on Tuesday 17th May to award a grant of £1000 to Root Experience. This will enable the Sussex Theatre Group to bring Project: Oggbots to Worthing on Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1 June as part of a half term tour.

Root Experience is an intergalactic treasure hunt designed to inspire the next generation of electronic engineers is coming to Worthing thanks in part to Worthing Community Chest.

Part game-part theatre experience, the hunts will start every 15 minutes from The Connaught Theatre between 10am and 4pm on both days and finish at Worthing library. The show invites 7 to 11-year-olds to journey through the streets, solving clues, meeting mysterious characters and dodging secret agents in order to collect pieces of alien robots, crash-landed from space. Along the way children will learn the basics of electronic engineering in order to rebuild their very own Oggbot.
