Worthing Community Chest had the great pleasure of presenting a cheque for £1500 to WAGA (Worthing Allotments and Garden Association).

Trustee Malcolm and new trustee Cllr Tom Wye were lucky enough to spend a beautiful afternoon exploring The Humber Avenue Allotment site.

This grant has enabled the members of WAGA to purchase a shipping container, re-fit the inside, and open up a shop on site for the use of the other allotment users.

Sue Jellis and Jane Sim, both local Councillors, came along to see the benefit of the new shop, which is also the last council run allotment.

The items are subsidized, also it has become a useful meeting place for growers to exchange snippets and tips for better results.

Our latest round of funding is now open. For more information please take a look at our guidelines and criteria.
