Cycall Adapted Cycling CIC hosted a magnificent family Fun Day at Brooklands Park with a sponsored bike ride in aid of the Mayor of Worthing‘s charities: Parkinson’s UK Worthing and Washington Group,  Broadwater Support Group & Community Hub and Cycall themselves. Friends, families and supporters of the three nominated charities aimed to cycle the equivalent of 411 miles, the distance from Worthing Town Hall to the Mairie in Les Sables d’Olonne in western France, one of Worthing’s “twin towns”. Funds raised on the day and via their Just Giving page will be divided between the charities.

Our Input

Cycall is an amazing charity that does so much good in our community, helping adults and children with disabilities and health issues, and people of all ages living with dementia and mental health challenges. We have been very proud to award them funding again this year to help maintain and insure their fantastic fleet of adapted bicycles and provide additional accessible toilet facilities, which are a key element in making their service truly open to all.

Worthing Community Chest trustees, Malcolm Brett and Richard Nowak, flew the flag for WCC on the day, along with our wonderful Patron, Worthing & Adur Town Crier, Bob Smytherman.

Supporting each other

We just love the way Cycall are “paying it forward” – using their skills, facilities and supporters to help raise funds for other good causes. Small charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations working together for the benefit of all is a great way to do more with less in these very challenging times for the third sector.

We think Cycall are an inspiration and we are delighted to support them in what they do so well.
